About this event

This one-hour presentation explores the emerging concept of palliative aesthetics—an approach that integrates art, sensory experience, and the intentional shaping of atmosphere into the fabric of end-of-life care. Moving beyond symptom management, the session invites participants to consider how aesthetic interventions can enhance presence, comfort, dignity, and meaning in the dying process.

Drawing from clinical practice and interdisciplinary research the talk will examine how visual art, music, narrative, and environmental elements can be used intentionally to support patients, families, and caregivers during this critical life stage. Participants will learn practical strategies for incorporating aesthetic modalities into end-of-life settings and reflect on the emotional dimensions of care that honor not just life, but the quality of its closing chapter.
