Painting the Autumn Harvest! ( October 17, 18, & 19/ 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM)

From fresh quince gathered from Dondero’s Orchard to small pumpkins fresh from Edmundson’s Farm, the choices are abundant for participants of this workshop to paint small studies so valuable for adding to larger and more varied compositions.

In addition to twice-daily painting demonstrations, instructor, Carlo Russo, will offer insight into using small studies to supplement larger painting compositions, share images of master paintings that illustrate the various choices in composition, and provide instruction as to finding practical methods for building and expanding compositions. There will be ample time to have questions answered throughout the workshop.

Studio participants should bring range of small to moderately-sized painting subjects. The studio will provide pumpkins, quince and available autumn florals.

Zoom students should look for five to seven painting subjects that will be suitable for small studies.

Lodging is available for visiting students at the Charles Cheney Inn. One of the original Cheney mansions, the Inn is only a five-minute walk from the studio. Breakfast is served each morning - the owner’s name is Laura Reichelt.

Call for a reservation - tell Laura you’ll be here for the workshop - (860) 558-1957. Any questions, please email Trudy at the studio email address: millstudiofinearts@gmail.com.
