Step into a vibrant celebration where creativity meets conscience. This fashion show spotlights the power of youth innovation, sustainability, and purpose-driven art—pushing the boundaries of what fashion can be. Each bold look is more than just style; it’s a statement, telling deeply personal stories and shedding light on urgent social issues. From upcycled materials to avant-garde designs, every piece on display challenges norms and sparks dialogue, turning the runway into a platform for change. This is fashion with a mission—fueled by the voices of a new generation determined to shape a more just, expressive, and sustainable future. Expect to be inspired, moved, and maybe even transformed. If you’ve ever questioned whether fashion can be revolutionary, this show answers with a resounding “yes.”
Presented by Lotus Fashion Collective with support from ArtsBuild, Art 120, Barking Legs, and Lo Custom Art, this vibrant showcase is the culmination of a week-long Fashion Camp for young adults held during Fall Break, October 13–17. Over the course of the camp, participants designed and created original wearable art pieces using upcycled and recycled materials, transforming discarded items into meaningful runway statements.
“Painted in Purpose empowers young adults to use fashion as a voice — to create with intention and express who they are while learning about sustainability and community,” said Shanna Forrestall, Creative Producer & Co-instructor for the camp.
