Join us for a special Paint & Sip - a zesty Still Life Edition! Let’s Create!
We'll pull from coffee shop items, local fruit markets, and my ecletic collection of vases, bottles, and bobs from the studio. We'll assemble a cafe still life on site, and paint from life! From outline and form, to color mixing, I'll guide you through the basic steps in the proces as you create your own unique painted artwork. Take it as serious or as silly as your mood dictates, it'll be colorful and fun no matter what!
Please note: this is not full "step by step" where we all paint the same scene, but guided steps as each participant creates their art based on their view of the still life setup. So similar, just a bit more open!
Join artist Teresa Stern for this fun twist on "Paint & Sip" - where you’ll create a 9x12-inch acrylic painting of a colorful and seasonal mix of items including ceramic mug, vase, plants or fruit - perfect to brighten a little nook of your home or office, or gift to someone special. Also makes a great date outing, gals afternoon, birthday experience gift, or solo activity to meet new friends!
Whether you are an aspiring artist or just looking to explore your own creativity, Teresa will guide you step by step to create a still life artwork based on observation and artistic license, providing suggestions along the way for ways you can add your own flair. You will be amazed at what you can create in this fun and relaxed class that is enjoyable for all skill levels—no experience needed!
All art materials provided, along with one beverage from Makeda's menu (includes acrylic paint & canvas and related suppllies plus one coffee/espresso, tea, wine, and beer options). Dress for art making or bring an old shirt to wear over as a "smock".
Alternate materials: You are welcome to bring other painting or drawing materials (watercolor, gouache, pastel, pencils, and related papers/surfaces) for this more open session and paint along in your chosen medium.
Spaces are limited, so book your spot today. See you at Makeda & Mingus for a summer afternoon of paint, creativity, and fun as we create together!
Paint from a small still life of coffee shop, eclectic objects, and local foods. Or bring your own item if you like to add to the mix!

Frequently asked questions
Not at all! This class is open to anyone who just wants to paint and be creative! Step by step guidance is provided. You'll learn, have fun, and be social!
This class is geared toward adults. Kids 12 and up are welcome, with at least one adult participant.
Classes are not refundable. In cases of illness or emergency, please let me know within 48 hours of the event. Filling your spot last minute is difficult so please consider gifting your seat. If available, a transfer credit toward another upcoming event at this venue may be possible.
All art materials are provided. One coffee, tea, beer, or wine beverage is also included. Snacks and additional beverages are available for purchase.
We'll be using acrylic paints, so it's best to wear something you'd be ok if things get messy. Bring an apron or smock, or an old T shirt if you like! Acrylic paint may be removed, if washed out immediately and before it dries, but who notices paint when they're in the creative flow??
