In The Flow Paddling, Co. & Satsang Yoga & Wellness are partnering with the City of Piqua, Susie's Big Dipper, and Crooked Handling Brewing to offer a beginner level stand up paddleboarding adventure on the waters at Piqua's Lock 9 !
Perfect for those looking to explore the waterways with friends in a fun and safe way! Whether you're a beginner or experienced paddler, this event is perfect for paddlers at all levels. Our experienced instructors will guide you through basic paddling instruction including: how to get on and off the board safely, how to maneuver, and even how to fall off safely. Then you will be guided on the waters around the downtown area where we will stop briefly for you to show off your headstand or balancing tricks on the board!
For just $35 each, you will receive the following:
- $10 voucher for Crooked Handle Brewing or Susies Big Dipper!
- 90 minutes of "Paddling the Lock"
- A free padlock to add to the "Lock Tree" at the park <3
- Safety and maneurvering instruction, all necessary equipment
- Connection to nature and balance on the water
- A high vibrational good time meeting fellow paddlers!!!

Frequently asked questions
No experience required! We will teach you the basics of paddleboarding safety, balance, and navigation
Minimum age is 14. Anyone under the age of 18 requires a parent or legal guardian to be present.
You may choose to wear a bathing suit, shorts, yoga attire, or whatever is most comfortable for you! We do not recommend extremely loose items, as it could interfere with your experience.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll cancel one hour ahead of time and let you know with an email from Eventbrite and post on our Facebook page. You will receive a full refund. This could include stormy weather, unseasonably cool conditions, or when the river is too high or low to paddle safely.
Yes, for your own personal safety, please be sure that you are able to swim and able to float above water in the rare event you fall off your board. But don't worry, our instructors will be nearby to assist you if you happen to fall off !
All equipment will be provided. We recommend you bring your own sunblock, hat, water bottle, water shoes (highly recommended), a dry bag if you need to take anything on the water with you, and towel. If you plan to bring your phone on the water we also recommend you put that in a waterproof case.
You will receive your voucher the day of the event.
