Description
Please join us at Philly Women Rally's first across-the-aisle round table forum: “Marching to the Polls - the Middle Way!”
The roundtable will be moderated by Keir Grey, Chief Defender of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. It will be structured as a “Public Service” conversation between candidates, with the Moderator asking questions to the group giving each candidate an opportunity to answer in a free-flowing manner. Each candidate will have 90 seconds to respond, with each round running roughly 15 minutes. There will be seven rounds of questions with a final eighth round for closing remarks by each candidate. The emphasis will be on women’s rights issues related to sexual harassment, reproductive rights, equal pay, equal rights for the LGBTQ members of the community and racial equality. If you'd like to submit a question to be considered for the roundtable, please contact info@phillywomenrally.com.
After the closing comments, we will include an interactive element with you, the audience, polling you in real time through the polleverywhere.com application; you will be able to answer a set of questions that will allow you to express what issues matter most, and how you would like the candidates to represent you in Harrisburg.
All candidates for PA Lt. Governor have been invited to participate. These candidates have confirmed their attendance as of 4/14 (subject to change):

When is Election Day?
The Primary Election is May 15, 2018. Pennsylvania has closed primaries, meaning you must be registered with a party affiliation to vote for their candidates in the primary. You may vote for ballot measures regardless of your party affiliation. You must be registered to vote by April 16, 2018 to participate in the Primary Election. The winners of the primary election for each party will go on to face each other in the General Election on November 6, 2018. You must be registered to vote by October 7, 2018 to participate in the General Election.
Why host an across-the aisle forum?
According to the Pennsylvania Department of State voting and elections statistics data, by the end of 2017, there were19,815 Pennsylvanians that switched their party affiliation from Republican to Democrat and there were 29,354 Pennsylvanians that switched their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. As of April 2, 2018, 6,563Pennsylvanians switched their party affiliation from Republican to Democrat and 8,552 Pennsylvanians switched their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. Further, when Connor Lamb spoke the day after the PA-18 congressional district special election last month, he stated that upon his door to door knocking with constituents, they stated that they wanted both the Democrats and Republicans to work together for them! They wanted them to do their job as they were elected to do! Pennsylvanian voters deserve bipartisan and open civil political discourse.
Though the primary is closed, join us in embarking on an opportunity to establish a Pennsylvania standard that collectively engages voters at the primary stage of the electoral process!
How can I submit a question for the roundtable?
Please send your question to info@phillywomenrally.com. Final selection of questions and topics will be done by the moderator.
