Clinical supervision provides a bridge between the classroom and the real world. Ultimately, effective clinical supervision ensures that providers continue to increase their skills, which increases quality of treatment, retention in treatment, and staff satisfaction. The content presented in this workshop will be within the framework of a recovery-oriented focus of clinical supervision for substance use professionals. This workshop focuses on the processes of teaching, coaching, and mentoring that is included in the effective clinical supervision of high -competency substance use program staff. Exercises and case examples specific to the unique practice settings of participants are incorporated to promote knowledge transfer and skill application practice.
