Overcoming Obstacles: Green Tara Practice as a Path of Compassion (Retreat)
Overview
Our external world today often appears littered with division, violence, and alienation. Rather than grow dismayed by external experiences that show cruelty and heartlessness, how can we use our vulnerability to effectively channel this energy into a more supportive practice? This beautiful practice explores a path of inner transformation by being present with our pain, fear, and aversion. It incorporates Lam Rim (Stages of the Path) meditation along with the sadhana and mantra recitation of Green Tara. By opening our hearts in kindness to ourselves and others, the potential exists for our external reality to shift more beneficially as well. Tara is one of the most widely venerated deities in Tibetan Buddhism and is the embodiment of enlightened energy. In doing this practice, inner and outer obstacles can be eliminated to help us develop our minds and accumulate the positive conditions needed to attain enlightenment. Some background in Buddhism is helpful. Led by Venerable Amy. We will have a break from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Please bring your own lunch.
