Staged Reading of Omo Mi the play: Family & Friends Edition

Omo Mi, written by Sadia Alao and directed by Whitney Jarrett & Jasmine Mitchell, is an award-winning coming-of-age one act play about a young Nigerian-American girl faced with an unexpected pregnancy, a potential abortion, and conflict with her traditional Muslim mother.

“Omo Mi” translates to “My Child” in Yoruba

The intimate preview performance will also include music, light refreshments, and Nigerian small chops. While some seating will be provided, we encourage our guests to bring lawn chairs!
