Jo Warren presents: MODEL HOME (World Premiere)

MODEL HOME is a group dance that attempts to make the familiar strange and the strange familiar by highlighting and then subverting cultural archetypes and cliches. Working with imagery of the family home and suburbia, this work seeks to dis-orient the viewer in relation to the mythology of American life. Through a combination of set material, improvisational scores, relational practice, vocalizing, harmonizing and channeling emergent characters, the performers take the well-trodden paths of gendered and archetypal images and move them into unexpected territory.

Direction: Jo Warren

Choreography: in collaboration with the performers

Performance: Meg Herzfeld, Paris Cullen, Maddie Hopfield and Sofia Franklin

Music: Ryan Gamblin

Costume Design: Kate Wiliams

Owen Prum presents: Extremely Chemical (World Premiere)

Three dancers enter the space, arriving at a still formation, dots on a grid. They appear as pedestrians, a group indiscernible as strangers or peers. They stand on the precipice between crowd and performer. A singular bass boom rings out, like a crash from a club down the street. Gradually they begin to shift, walk, patter in loose pathways, carving lines and right angles.

Choreography, Direction, by: Owen Prum

Music: Ella Heron

Design: Richard McDonough
