Join us on January 19 2026, for Voices for Virginia’s Children Annual Intergenerational Advocacy Day! Hosted in Richmond, Virginia at the Virginia General Assembly, this day of action will unite advocates of all ages and all experiences to champion critical issues impacting Virginia’s youth and families, including early care and education, youth mental health, health equity, child welfare, and family economic security.

No prior advocacy experience is required!

Event Highlights:

  • Morning Program at Red Bird Social - Start the day with a complimentary breakfast and inspiration from speakers and advocacy ambassadors as we kick off our advocacy efforts.
  • Legislative Visits at the General Assembly Building - Meet with lawmakers to advocate for key bills and budget priorities that make young people the agenda.
  • Rally at the Bell Tower - Raise your voice and join us for a powerful rally to amplify our message.
  • Catered Lunch at Red Bird Social - Wrap up with a community lunch to connect with fellow advocates.

**Note: We would love to have you for all or part of the day - be sure to let us know if you will be attending the Rally and/or the Lunch by selecting the Ticket Add-On for the Rally and responding in the order form!

This is more than just a day of advocacy; it's an experience aimed at collective healing and storytelling for young people, families, and community partners. Together, we will champion legislation and budget items that sustain critical programs, improve outcomes and change systems for youth and families in Virginia. Now is the time to share our stories, lift our voices, and advocate for the changes we want to see for our communities.

Additional Information:

  • We are so excited for attendees to meet and engage with Voices amazing 2025-2026 Virginia’s Youth in Action cohort who will be joining us to share their stories and celebrate the last year spent digging into state-level policy, advocacy and storytelling.
  • Groups will be led by Voices' team members and our passionate Advocacy Ambassadors who will be represented by partner organization and youth leaders.
  • We request your home address in the registration to match you with a group to meet your State Senator and Delegate when possible.
  • Attendees may need to pay for parking in downtown Richmond, specific parking details will be shared with registered attendees.
