As part of Grand Park’s Our L.A. Voices – Pop-up Arts+Culture Fest, Grand Park will offer free workshops on the pragmatic side of making art in L.A. Topics range from intellectual property and copyright protection, marketing, entrepreneurship skills and fundraising. These workshops are open to all and require pre-registration. Parking validation will be provided for workshop attendees for LOT 10 only. Parking Lot 10 is located on N. Broadway between First Street + Temple Street. Parking lot address is 145 N. Broadway, with entrances on Broadway and on Hill St.

Artists Thriving Into Retirement: Visioning and Tools to Get You On Track presented by Jennifer Cuevas and Angie Sharma

Through this workshop, participants will learn to use strategic planning to create their vision for retirement, learn how tech tools can help change spending behavior, encourage lowering debt and create streams of revenue that add up to savings for retirement investment and gain knowledge of basic institutional financial retirement account options for longer-term financial planning as independent contractors.

• 45 mins: Angie Sharma and Financial Planning Group Info Session Presentation, with an emphasis on options for indie artists, contractors and business owners; non ‘401-Kers’

Do you have an idea for your next artwork but no idea where the money will come from? Join us for a 90 minute interactive workshop on project fundraising for individual artists, projects and businesses. We will talk about basics such as developing your database of contacts, creating valuable relationships and determining where to best focus efforts. Under the guidance of facilitator Katina Frye, the workshop will focus on Los Angeles funding opportunities and how to set yourself apart in applications.
