Oslo with Friend Of A Friend on Friday, November 7 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, CA!
OSLO—comprised of Mattia Borrani (vocals/guitar), Kerry Wayne James (bass), and Gabrial McNair—first made waves with their self-titled debut in 2005, earning critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Billboard, and LA Weekly. Their breakout single “Minute Gun” became a staple on LA’s Indie 103, propelling the band into national recognition.
Their 2007 follow-up, The Rise and Fall of Love and Hate, expanded their cinematic sound with contributions from Grammy-nominated producer Ryan Hewitt and Interpol’s Sam Fogarino, and featured guest appearances from Melissa Auf der Maur and Adrian Young. Tracks from the album were featured in major TV series, including CSI and The Unit.
Continuing to evolve, OSLO released two EPs that captured new dimensions of their sonic journey. 2011’s High Mountain Sessions, Vol. 1 featured the standout track “Riff Raff , ” later featured on Showtime’s Shameless. In 2016, they returned with The Morning After EP, embracing a more atmospheric and electronic sound. The pulsing, infectious “Ears Are Ringing” marked a defining moment in their creative evolution.
Their latest single, “Everybody Knows, ” is a powerful and visually arresting statement—exploring themes of trust, betrayal, and moral decay into a haunting anthem for our time, echoing the tension and injustice of the present day, signaling a bold new chapter for the band.
OSLO has shared stages with The Church, Motion City Soundtrack, Blue October , Third Eye Blind, and Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs, earning a reputation for emotionally charged performances and genre-defying depth.
