About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

A brief summer night's walk, illuminated by July's full(ish) moon and some fiery flying friends, transports us to the Orchid Range. From there: Panama? Nepal? Ghana? The incredible diversity of this global flower family is ours to explore, and their hidden evolutionary stories ours to read—if we know how. Are orchids' unique, co-evolved entanglements with pollinator, fungus, and land responsible for their reputation as fragile and fickle plants? Or is this what simply what happens when any species is displaced from its native habitat?
