About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

Every stream counts in our efforts to help our critically-endangered Southern Resident Orca. These beloved whales need healthy salmon populations to survive. So roll up your sleeves and help us restore Gardiner Creek with native plants. The waterway flows straight into the Snoqualmie River, which Chinook salmon rely on for cool, clean water.

KCD will provide gloves, tools, water, and a light lunch. Carpooling is encouraged, as parking is limited on-site. Please wear appropriate closed-toes shoes and clothing that can get dirty.

If you are a youth aged 14-17 attending without a parent or guardian, please email claudia.yaw@kingcd.org for a copy of our liability waiver. All youth under 14 must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian.

As a bonus for your hard work, the Seattle Modern Orchestra is generously offering free tickets to Orca Recovery Day volunteers for their October 18 concert, Among the Trees: Sonic Ecology in the Anthropocene. A promo code will be shared with volunteers.
