Optimistic: Eden, Elements & Ever After is a transformational fashion showcase that journeys through the sacred six elements: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Ruby, and Diamond. Each element reflects a chapter of resilience, radiance, and a glimpse into the future.
This show is a tribute to Jordan Thomas Swan, lovingly known as “23,” whose life was taken by gun violence in 2024. His legacy lives on through his fashion brand, $tack or Starve, featured on the runway as a powerful symbol of perseverance, purpose, and passion. Jordan believed in turning adversity into style, and we honor him by carrying that light forward.
This evening is also a celebration of Jordan’s parents, who both met at Howard University and are proud Howard Alumni of the University. As proud sponsors of this event, their unwavering love and sacrifice are the heartbeat of this show. We chose Howard University School of Social Work as our venue in honor of their journey, their strength, and their belief in community, healing, and higher purpose.
