Opera Queensland and Goondiwindi Regional Council present ‘Do We Need Another Hero?’
Opera Queensland is embarking on a regional adventure to bring the new production 'Do We Need Another Hero?' to Goondwindi from the creative team behind 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' and 'Lady Sings the Maroons.'
All proceeds will go towards the local Dolly Parton Imagination Library initiative.
Date: Saturday 1st June 2024
Time: Doors and bar open at 5pm, show starts at 7pm
Location: Goondiwindi Waggamba Community Cultural Centre
About the Show:
Get ready for a quest to find answers to “Where have all the good ones gone? Where are all the gods? Where’s that streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Because We Need a Hero or at least that’s what we’ve been told.”
From Hera to Hamlet, Wonder Woman to the Working Class Man, this show asks audiences the question: In a world connected yet divided, “Who’s Gonna Save Us?” Chart-topping anthems about bravery from artists as varied as The Beatles, Bowie and Bizet provide the soundtrack for our story as we search for what it means to be a hero. Exploring the musical archives, we discover not all heroes wear capes.
A variety of food options will be available to be pre-ordered through the ticket purchase and collected at the bar.
