Opening Reception | "TURTLE ISLAND" by Demontagnac
Overview
Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs kindly invites you to attend the opening reception on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 5-6 p.m. featuring the "TURTLE ISLAND" by Daniel Demontagnac. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
"The heart of my work is rooted in Indigenous Futurism (IF) — a philosophy of viewing time as a slingshot: the deeper we reach into our cultural past and ancestral knowledge, the stronger we stand in the present, and the further we ascend into the future." Demontagnac shares, "My practice draws from ancient sciences, spiritualities, medicines, moral codes, and cultural standards across the global indigenous diaspora. I use art as an educational tool to uplift the indigenous communities, reawakening healers, creatives, scientists, leaders, and educators needed in this time to usher in harmony and prosperity."
