Gallery A2 at Artisans Asylum is pleased to present Showmanship: Costuming Masculinity from Man to Monster, a two-person exhibition featuring Boston Drag Artists Throb Zombie and Rusty Hammer. Showmanship is powered by the Artisans Asylum Fiber Arts Shop and A2’s deep community focused altruism. Throb and Rusty are known for their killer looks, alluring stage presence, and their work to expand the drag community in Boston and beyond. Their craft in constructing their characters cements the expression of Drag as belonging in the fine arts pantheon. Costuming, makeup, performances, and community create an exuberant tableau; bringing the viewer into the world of the Drag Artist.

SHOWMANSHIP, which explores the work, creations, and perspective of iconic Boston drag kings Rusty Hammer and Throb Zombie, will be immediately followed by an opening reception showcase! Featuring a curated collection of some of the most prolific drag kings in the Boston area with up and rising shining stars, this is a show not to be missed!
