Join us at Vacation Forever for the launch of Salt Tile, a new exhibition by ceramicist, tattoo artist, and world-builder Rita Salt (@salt.tile).

The show features ceramic wall works, one-off tiles, and custom cabinet knobs—playful, handcrafted pieces at accessible, holiday-friendly price points. Perfect for Secret Santa gifting or adding a bit of magic to your home.

A custom catalogue will be available in the shop for anyone interested in collaborating on larger tile or mosaic projects.

Rita will also be offering a limited number of tattoo appointments this month, with a booking form opening soon.

Artist Statement
As a mosquito-bitten child exploring the attic of an old elementary school-turned-museum in Gimli, Manitoba—a site tied to Icelandic folklore and rumored home to Huldufólk—Rita Salt grew up in an atmosphere where play, myth, and mischief coexisted with the everyday world. Icelanders famously protect the natural landscape by honoring its unseen inhabitants, and this belief system heavily informs Rita’s artistic universe.

Her practice spans tattooing, ceramics, and architectural ornamentation. Through tiles, mosaics, and tactile, whimsical forms, she seeks to inject joy and curiosity into increasingly sterile public spaces—and into the walls and skins we inhabit. Her work is shaped by global residencies and a lifelong dedication to creating portals into magic.

About the Artist
Rita Salt (b. 1995, Paris) lives in a castle in Rhode Island with her cat Trolls, her dog Beef, and a rotating cast of art wizards. A Pratt alum, she has completed residencies internationally and exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Auckland, Leipzig, Milan, Reno, and beyond. Her first major solo show opened at Entrance Gallery in NYC in 2024.
