Opening Reception I Evan Michael Solís: The Texas Oral History Project

By Bronx Documentary Center

Overview

The Texas Oral History Project is an ongoing archive of portraits and interviews documenting the diverse lives and stories of Texans today.

The Texas Oral History Project combines recorded oral history interviews and large-format black and white photography in an ongoing effort to document the stories of the people of Texas in the 21st century: their wants and their needs; their triumphs and regrets; their memories of the past and their hopes for the future. This collection is meant to serve as a meaningful glimpse into the lives of the diverse people of this state, with stories ranging from the foothills of the Franklin Mountains in the Chihuahuan Desert to the tall pine forests of East Texas, from the arid Texas-Mexico borderlands to the storm-battered Gulf Coast.
