Whale Sounds on a Canvas II will be featured at Usher Gallery from October 14th to November 23rd.
Using a combination of hand-drawn wave-like patterns and digital color techniques, the works evoke both the fluidity of underwater life and the resonance of whale songs that travel across vast ocean distances. Alongside these pieces, the show also features acrylic whale paintings that bring the majesty of marine life to the canvas in vibrant, physical form. The exhibition emphasizes the profound connection between sound and environment, offering viewers a new way to perceive marine life beyond the surface.
At its core, Whale Sounds on a Canvas II explores themes of communication, migration, and the fragile balance of marine ecosystems, while highlighting the urgency of ocean conservation. Through this collection, Gokce invites audiences to listen with their eyes, engaging not only with the aesthetic power of the artworks but also with the deeper call to protect the world’s oceans and the species that depend on them.
