Opening Preview: Truth of A Portrait

The Truth of a Portrait represents elected officials and individuals who have dedicated their lives to civil rights, fighting systemic oppression, racism, defending the rights of women, and protecting our environment.

While Ozeri’s portraits are of individuals, each of them represents a greater constituency - we as the viewer often see ourselves in them as manifest through their political ideologies. These portraits become, in a way, signifiers or an indicator of our own political and moral values.

We invite you to experience Yigal Ozeri’s remarkable series of large-scale photorealist oil paintings representing some of America’s most influential and significant political leaders.
