We are working with the OU and UKLA to deliver a Teachers’ Reading Group where we will support you in developing Reading for Pleasure in your context.
These groups provide free, evidence–informed CPD to enrich understanding of reading for pleasure (RfP) pedagogy and practice. Our aims are:
- To foster young people’s RfP through supporting members’ own RfP and research-informed knowledge and practice;
- To support the profession by building a professional community around RfP locally and online;
- To share members’ resultant development work on the OU RfP website to inspire and encourage others.
As part of this course, you will develop an area of RfP and create a research project. This will develop during the year and end in the attendee presenting their research project.
There are 5 sessions and people must attend each session
- Wednesday 1st October
- Wednesday 26th November
- Wednesday 28th January
- Wednesday18th March
- Wednesday 6th May
- Wednesday 24th June
There will be gap tasks to complete between each of the sessions linked with you research project.
