Join us for a relaxed evening of writing, creativity, and fun at Philly Typewriter!
Bring your current writing projects, start something new, or type a heartfelt letter to a friend—we'll have plenty of paper and greeting cards on hand. Whether you're a poet, novelist, letter-writer, or curious first-timer, this is a welcoming space to experiment, connect, and enjoy the tactile joy of vintage typewriters.
This event is part of a summer long typewriting series hosted by Yidan Zeng, Philly Typewriter's current artist-in-residence. Please check other events by this organizer to see additional Open Typebar and Type Tasting workshop offerings.
Though the event is free, registration is encouraged to ensure we have enough machines for everyone. Lastly, masking is encouraged, and we'll have extra masks in the space.
About your facilitator
Yidan Zeng 曽一丹 (they/them) is a queer, Chinese American artist stitching together text, textiles, performance, and food towards an embodied practice of attention and care. Their works are continually woven webs with no center, seeking only to make tangible the invisible threads in our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
Currently, they are an artist-in-residence at @phillytypewriter exploring all the ways we can play with text/ure and type! Follow them @yidan_zeng or www.yidanzeng.com.
