Join us for Open Sing, a free vocal workshop series hosted by Masterworks Choral Ensemble (MCE)! Whether you're an experienced singer or just love to sing, this event is open to everyone in the community. Our Artistic Director, Ben Luedcke, will lead you through vocal exercises and fun choral pieces.
Event Highlights
Free Vocal Workshop: Learn vocal techniques and warm-ups from our expert Artistic Director, Ben Luedcke, whose private lessons normally cost $60+ per hour. No experience necessary!
Music Connection: Experience the joy of group singing and learn more about singing in a community choir like MCE.
Social Mix-and-Mingle: After the workshop, enjoy light refreshments and a short 30-minute mix-and-mingle. It's a great opportunity to meet Ben, talk to MCE members, and connect with other folks who love singing.

You are welcome to attend one or both events; the content will be similar but not identical, and there is no need to have attended the first to enjoy the second.

Yes! Open Sing is free, but by reserving a spot, you'll help us be able to ensure we have enough materials and refreshments for everyone. Make sure to RSVP for the correct date(s) you plan on attending. If you're bringing a friend (or two!) make sure everyone has claimed a free ticket.
Just your enthusiasm and love for singing! We’ll provide everything else you need. We'll provide bottled water, but you're welcome to bring your reusable bottle if you have one.
The easiest way to find the Great Hall is to enter through the West entrance facing the side parking lot, in between 5th Ave SE and Legion Way SE. The Great Hall is a large event space in the basement (NOT the main sanctuary upstairs.)
No, Open Sing is not a religious event. It's held at a church because it's challenging to find large, affordable spaces for groups like ours. The Great Hall is also where Masterworks holds its weekly choir rehearsals, but we are not a religious choir.
Open Sing is a workshop intended for adult singers, but those as young as 16 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
