Whether you're a filmmaker looking to showcase your work or just love watching short films, this event is for you.

Filmmakers submit your film here to be shown on October 12th, 2025 at Main Drag Music. Please review the submission rules and reach out if you have any questions. Please submit your film ahead of time. This is to minimize any technical issues at the event and to make sure your film is displayed the way you intended.

About The Event

Have a short narrative film you've been working on? A scene from a longer film you want to workshop? Want to kick back, check out local talent and hang out? We're having an open mic for short films - Join us!

The Open Mic for Short Film Night is a new, community oriented event where anyone can share their work in front of a live audience of fellow creators and film lovers. A platform for all, a chance to see work from the local community, a chance for your work to be seen, and an opportunity to meet other people passionate about film! Filmmakers are requested to submit ahead of time only to help keep the event running smooth - tickets will be sent to Filmmakers after submission with confirmation that they're on the list of work to be shown on October 12th.

Calling all filmmakers, storytellers, and cinema lovers—this is your stage!

After the film screenings, we'll have about an hour at the end for filmmakers and audience members to meet other film lovers and creators, ask for feedback on their films, or just unwind and socialize!

Whether you’re debuting a brand-new project, dusting off something from the vault, or just looking to connect with other film lovers, this is your chance to share, network, and be inspired.

Agenda

• 4:00 to 4:30. Doors open, come grab a seat!

• 4:30. The show begins!

• 7:00. Time to socialize!

• 8:00 Event is over.

We Do Have Some Rules

• Submissions should have a runtime between 4 and 20 minutes.

• All genres, categories, and subject matter are welcome, the only requirement is that the work should have some resemblance of a story.

• As capacity is limited, we're asking for submissions for

• Filmmakers (or a team member) are required to attend the event for their film to be screened. If you submit work - come to the event!

• Open Mic For Short Film Night and Main Drag Music are not responsible for any loss, damage, or rights disputes arising from submitted works.

• Please respect the space. It's excellent of Main Drag Music to let us use their space, let's be excellent to them.

• Submitting early will be the equivalent of signing up on the list. First come, first screened.

• Entries will be closed if the time limit for the event space is reached.

• Free - but please consider donating - donations will go to the cost of the space, equipment, and for future open mic film nights.

• First come, first screened - but please submit ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

• Event space is not accessible via wheelchair as there are stairs to get to the event space.

• Screen is 8' x10'.

• This first event will have a capacity of 80-100, with benches for about 40 or 50 people. depending on how many people show up, we may have floor seating or standing.
