This month, we invite you to a virtual open mic centred on the powerful, universal theme of Letting Go. We'll begin with featured performances from a few incredible writers published in our redrosethorns publications, who will share their work. Then, we open the mic to YOU.
Bring your poetry, your stories, your songs, or just your presence. This is a space to share, listen, and collectively explore the freedom that comes with release.
Why Participate?
- Catharsis: Give voice to what needs to be released. Sharing your story can be a powerful act of letting go in itself.
- Expression: Share your truth in a safe, welcoming, and supportive space. There is no pressure to be perfect—only to be authentic.
- Connection: Find solace and strength in a community exploring the same profound theme. Witnessing others' journeys reminds us we are not alone.
(Please note: you do not have to share work based on our theme. This session is about forming connection and building community.)
What to Expect
We’ll begin with a contemplative quote on release to set the tone, followed by moving features from our guest artists. Then, the virtual stage is yours.
- Share: Read a poem, tell a story, or a short monologue. (Time limits will be gently enforced to ensure everyone has a chance).
- Listen: There is absolutely no obligation to perform. Your attentive presence as an audience member is a gift that fuels this collective space.
Come to share, to practice, to listen, or simply to breathe and reflect.

Note: When you sign up for the event, you’ll automatically be included as a potential speaker. At the start of the gathering, we’ll do a quick check-in to confirm who’d like to share their—so if you’d prefer to just listen, no problem! This way, we can make sure everyone who wants to read gets their moment.
