Event description
One Size Doesn’t Fit All: Sustainable Design Certifications and Programs and How They Fit the Sustainability Goals of Your Organization

About this Event

Sustainability and energy conservation are of the utmost importance in the built environment and in moving towards an energy efficient and sustainable future. Cutting-edge technologies and methodologies contribute in many ways to the final design and uses of facilities and help bring us to that future. This interactive program will help participants understand which certification programs and/or guidelines make the most sense for their facility or project.

In this session, architects from IKM Architecture, Melanie Como Harris and Catherine Adams ,will discuss four of the current cutting-edge programs for building sustainable structures- The Living Building Challenge, LEED, Well Building, and Passive House. The speakers will examine the criteria for each and help participants understand how to navigate the programs moving forward.
