For our first Construct event of 2026, we’re doing something a little different. We’re pausing to ask a different kind of question, one about leadership, legacy and lived experience, by exploring the career and character of someone who has helped shape place making in Greater Manchester for more than four decades.

In this special On the Sofa With… event, Simon Bedford will be in conversation with Eamonn Boylan. Through senior roles across Manchester, Stockport, GMCA and Homes England, Eamonn has played a significant role in shaping the region’s ambitions, challenges and identity. The conversation will look back honestly at the decisions that mattered, the moments that changed direction, and the lessons learned from navigating the politics, partnership sand pressures of senior public sector leadership.
