Join us for the inaugural Works-in-Process evening at Woolly Mammoth Theatre. An illuminating night where our dancers, choreographers, musicians and composer will deconstruct, discuss, rehearse and then perform three different short works including a brand new work-in-process, Testimony.
Artistic Director Diane Coburn Bruning will deconstruct two acclaimed repertoire works: Journey, a sculptural piece set to Barber’s iconic Adagio from the String Quartet No. 2, and selections from Time Has Come, set to music by Telemann and Scarlatti, performed by our dancers fresh from the studio.
Get a first look into the creation of our newest work, Testimony. Composer Charlton Singleton and guest Choreographer Christian Denice will discuss the development of the score and choreography, joined by dancers Crystal Serrano and Michael Mengden and our string quartet, who will perform excerpts and share insights into the rehearsal process.
Held in the intimate Woolly Mammoth Theatre, the evening blends deconstruction, demonstration, discussion, and performance, offering an opportunity to engage directly with the art and artists of Chamber Dance Project. Premium seating on stage includes an exclusive 30-minute post-performance meet-and-greet with the evening’s featured artists.
This is a rare chance to witness and connect with the creative process as it unfolds, getting closer to the art than ever before.
