Event description

About this event

First, let me say to those of you who have sponsored our meetings in the past, thank you!  Without your support, there wouldn’t be a user group so we’re extremely grateful to you for your help.

We were proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Omaha .NET UG in 2021 and had amazing support from a variety of our sponsors. 20 years of continuous meetings isn't something that one person or even a small group of people are able to achieve. It requires a strong support network of people who are committed to the success of the organization. Our sponsors form the backbone of that group!

The goal of the Omaha .NET UG has always been to build a community for .NET developers. Covid-19 has presented us with numerous challenges to that goal, however, we were able to get back in-person meetings this year and continue to have our meetings broadcast live. Our sponsors have been a tremendous support throughout these uncertain times.

We are currently setting up our sponsorships for the coming year (2022).  If you have an interest in sponsoring one of our monthly meetings, keep reading for details.

This year we'll be doing the sponsorship the same way as last year since it worked so well.  We’re waiting until Monday, November 29th to open slots to make sure everyone has a fair chance to plan their month.  We'll be collecting a sponsorship fee of $150 the same way we did last year.  Please know that all of the money we collect is used exclusively to support the user group.

Wondering what the benefits of sponsoring a meeting are?

  • Increase your visibility to highly talented .NET developers
  • Your company profile will be sent to 1,000+ local .NET developers for the month that you sponsor.
  • You will have the opportunity to address the attendees of the meeting and get to know them.
  • You build goodwill within the community.  Our sponsors are viewed as companies that are connected and have desirable working environments

What are the requirements for sponsoring a meeting?

  • For in person meetings, our sponsors provide the food for our meetings, which is generally pizza but can be anything you like.   The cost varies based on what you decide to bring and how many people attend the meetings.  By using this model, we guarantee that you get what you pay for.  Attendance varies based on the topic of the presenter, location, and other community events.
  • For virtual events, we've been asking our sponsors to roll the budget that would've been spent on food into giveaway prizes, which will help to drive up attendance. If you do plan to provide giveaways, please let us know before the meeting so we can communicate that in the meeting invite.
  • For in-person events, you can optionally provide a place to hold the meeting.  This gives people the chance to see your work environment, introducing them to the opportunities you have to offer.  If you don't have a room big enough to seat about 50 people, don't worry, we have partnerships with several companies who are very happy to let us use their facility (depends on the current Covid statistics).
  • You can optionally provide a speaker for the meeting.  There are numerous advantages to having someone from your company speak.  The primary advantage is that this person can use the meeting to further describe your company while also providing technical know-how to our members.

Given all of this, I want to also add that last year our sponsorships were completely filled within the few minutes.  We have 11 meetings / year (November and December typically get combined due to the holidays), but we have many more sponsors who want to get involved.  Knowing this, I want to encourage you to respond quickly to ensure that you reserve your spot.

In conclusion, I want to reiterate that we are deeply grateful for the excellent support that you have provided to the user group since it was originally created in 2001.  With your help, we’re looking forward to another successful year in 2022.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon,
