Event description

Description

Color Excerpts highlights Jimmy Miracle’s everyday wanderings around his neighborhood in Goleta and his fresh eye for color. Join the artist for a fun adventure in painting at the AFSB Art Gallery grounds.

You will learn the techniques to create your own oil painting. You bring the art materials you specifically want to use to make your painting uniquely yours. Get to see your local community in a new way. Seek neither picturesque nor unsightly subjects, but freely paint your immediate surroundings with an open mind.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. WE PROMISE!!

The setting of this workshop will be the historic Acheson House built in 1904. The stately two-story home sits at the corner of Victoria and Garden Streets anchoring and “announcing” the Historic Bungalow District with prominent entries facing both streets. The house is designed in a Victorian Italianate style – a highly formalized tall, simple wood framed structure with hip roof, clad with wood siding, and with restrained detailing.
