About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for the third installment of Basement Theatrics’ Off the Shelf Series—a curated reading of a raw, character-driven play that captures the aimlessness, wit, and rebellion of youth in early 1980s New York.

Featuring performances by Jack Mallett, Luke Kissick, and Katie Van Riper. Directed by Moshe Henderson, with stage management by Coretta Bradley.

This performance is a preliminary look into a full production currently in development for fall. Your presence helps us shape its future.

The Off the Shelf Series revisits known and established works through the lens of Basement Theatrics’ process-driven, collaborative ethos. These readings and performances explore how familiar plays resonate in new contexts—uncovering fresh meanings, unexpected insights, and renewed relevance. Even the classics deserve another look—and a new conversation.
