NEMNUF Alzafar Shrine Clown Unit – Spreading Joy, One Smile at a Time

Beyond the red noses and big shoes, NEMNUF Alzafar Shrine Clown Unit of San Antonio is a fun-loving, service-driven group of Shriners who are all about lifting spirits and spreading joy wherever they go. As part of the larger Alzafar Shriners fraternity—which is made up of over 2,000 members—the Clown Unit plays a special role in supporting Shriners Children’s hospitals, with a big focus on the renowned burn center in Galveston.

Mission: More Than Just Funny Faces

At the heart of what they do is a simple but powerful mission: to bring happiness and comfort to children and families going through tough times. The Clowns regularly visit patients at Shriners Children's Texas, using humor and compassion to create moments of relief and laughter. But their outreach doesn’t stop there—they’re a beloved presence at the annual Alzafar Shrine Circus, South Texas parades, and a variety of community events throughout the year. Wherever they go, they bring energy, smiles, and a little bit of magic.
