About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Cait will lead the group on a moderate hike in Settler’s Cabin Park where we will identify and forage medicinal herbs to bring back to Woolly Bear. Afterward, we will discuss the medicinal benefits of the herbs we foraged in further discussion and make traditional tinctures to take home. Everything is provided for the tincture making, but please bring a pair of scissors and a tote to gather your herb(s) of choice in!

"What is a tincture?" you may be asking. Essentially, they are natural medicines made by dissolving certain components in an alcohol solution. Commonly used flowers and herbs include echinacea (purple coneflower), chamomile, elderberry, calendula, raspberry leaf, and dandelion.
