About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

When the neuroscientist Gül Dölen gave octopuses ecstasy, these typically hostile animals did something extraordinary. They cuddled! Join author Joe Dolce and Dr. Dölen in conversation about that groundbreaking experiment and how it is changing the way science thinks about how all psychedelics – MDMA, LSD, magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, 5 MEO-DMT, ibogaine and ketamine -- work in the brain and how they can be used for new ways of healing.

Joe Dolce is the author of the new book, Modern Psychedelics: The Handbook For Mindful Exploration, which launches Aug 5th. Gül Dölen is a professor of neuroscience and psychology at UC Berkeley and founder of dölenLab. Her research includes neuroscience, psychedelics, social behavior, stroke, autism, PTSD and addiction.

You will not forget this conversation.
