Description:

AIA Central Kentucky, in cooperation with the Kentucky Roofing Contractors Association (KRCA) will host a joint roundtable luncheon to discuss questions and concerns related to roofing design, specification and installation. During this open forum, attendees will engage in-depth technical discussion about the latest requirements for roofing design and construction with roofing contractors, roof manufacturer reps and architects who specialize in roof related projects.

The panelists include:

• NRCA Technical Services Director Maciek Rupar
• Architect / Roof Consultant: Pat Murphy, President of PDM Architects
• Roofing Contractor: Pat Dorsey, President of Tecta America (still to be confirmed)
• Roofing manufacturer: Terry McDermott, Firestone Roofing products

Learning objectives:

• Discuss current codes and regulations for roofing system design.
• Understand how various products satisfy performance requirements such as insulation value, solar reflectance and wind uplift.
• Explain best practices for the preparation of roofing drawings and specifications.
• Describe proper installation techniques for various roofing components and materials.
