Overview

Explore healthy building essentials in this 2-hour course on WELL, Fitwel, LEED v5 & PERFORM—boosting health, equity & resilience in design.

This 2-hour certificate course introduces participants to the foundational principles of healthy buildings through the lens of four leading frameworks: WELL, LEED v5, and PERFORM.

Designed to support the USGBC-California Healthy Buildings Certificate, the course explores how each system promotes occupant health, equity, and resilience in the built environment.

Participants will learn how WELL’s 10 concepts of health and wellness provide a comprehensive framework for design and operations; how Fitwel’s evidence-based strategies enhance physical and mental well-being; how LEED v5 integrates health into its core impact areas; and how PERFORM enables portfolio-wide tracking and verification of health-related outcomes. The course emphasizes accessibility and engagement, offering practical insights for professionals across design, operations, and sustainability roles.

The certificate is designed as an entry point into the world of healthy building certifications—simpler, but rich in content and impact. Whether you're new to certification or seeking to deepen your understanding of health-focused building strategies, this course offers a clear, actionable foundation for enhancing occupant health and quality of life in buildings and communities.
