About this event

Join the NYU Langone Health Departments of Nursing, Center for Innovations in the Advancement of Care (CIAC) for an inspiring day of lively, provocative, scholarly dialogue and networking at our 27th Annual Nursing Science Conference. Our conference is one of the nation's longest-running hospital-based nursing science conference, which brings together nurses, researchers, academics and other health care professionals from NYU Langone Health and beyond.

This year’s keynote speaker and McClure Visiting Scholar is Patricia Benner, Ph.D., RN, FAAN. Dr. Benner developed a concept known as “From Novice to Expert.” This concept explains that nurses develop skills and an understanding of patient care over time from a combination of a strong educational foundation and personal experiences. The theory identifies five levels of nursing experience: novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient, and expert.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the conference includes thought provoking panels, podium presentations, lightning talks, and peer-reviewed posters on a wide range of nursing research and evidence-based practice topics.

For the full day's detailed agenda, see below.

There will be the annual Award for Best Poster, sponsored by our colleagues of the Upsilon Chapter of The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing.

***Please wear or bring your nursing school pin to the conference. We will create a digital photo archive of nursing pins.***
