“Being Dark: A Soul’s Icon of Divine Tangibility”

This lecture aims at informing religious leaders on how to enhance the co-creative human flourishing among their marginalized populations.

Overview: Bodies are the exterior prisms reflecting the wonder of their opaque inner being. With regards to the people of color, that very mystery is commonly demonized. Social alienation and the perception of disconnectedness between the interior life and its variegated bodylines symptomatically produce a deep sense of melancholy. What theological insights would aid in selves creatively, peacefully and tangibly inhabiting their darkened bodies? What spiritual practices can enhance a faithful understanding of the process of opacity
involved in becoming exuberantly human?
