NYRA Criticism Panel
By Chicago Architecture Biennial
Overview
This panel explores critique as necessary for accurately gauging the impact of the built environment on everyday life.
What is the value of writing about architecture in a critical register? For Douglas Spencer and Kate Wagner, critique is necessary for accurately gauging the impact of the built environment on everyday life. In their respective critical practices, both break with past conventions and so exemplify the theme of the current Chicago Architecture Biennial—to shift perspectives about architecture in ways pertinent to our troubled times. This conversation, organized by New York Review of Architecture (NYRA), is the first in a series presented in conjunction with a forthcoming special edition of NYRA—the Chicago Review of Architecture.
