Make it Live: A Practical Approach to Getting Gigs in NYC and Touring

About this Event

The live music market in New York City and the United States offer a wide range of opportunities for concerts and tours for a wide variety of musicians. This highly informative session provides participants with practical knowledge of how booking and touring works, the clubs network that exists for independent musicians, how to access them, and many other insider tips.

The session will highlight key subjects such as booking strategies, showcasing, and pitching to presenters. Musicians will learn the building blocks to book local and regional dates and best practices for preparing for shows and maximizing turnout.

The Workshop is presented by Mehmet Dede, Programming Director and Talent Buyer at Drom, downtown Manhattan’s 300 person capacity eclectic live music club. Dede is also co-founder of the NY Gypsy Festival and gives workshops nationally & internationally, in addition to teaching at the Hartt School in Hartford and NYU. www.dromNYC.com
