NYJavaSIG ToroDB: Next Gen Java DB & Automating Architectural Integrity
Event Information
Description
ToroDB - Next Generation Database for Java
Alvaro Hernandez Tortosa - Founder and Java/JEE architect
ToroDB is an exciting, new 100% open-source Java database system based on PostgreSQL that is 100% compatible with the MongoDB protocol (API and tools) and provides orders of magnitude higher analytics performance (up to 100x). It has a novel architecture that allows it to work with PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle, Greenplum another back-ends. You can replicate data from a (noSQL) MongoDB cluster and perform analytics using SQL.
Join this talk to understand how ToroDB works, what advantages it may bring to your Big Data architecture, and how to hack ToroDB's Java open source code.
Architectural Debt and Quantifying Structural Integrity
Alexander von Zitzewitz - Co-Founder
Sonargraph is a powerful static code analyzer that allows you to monitor a Java software system for technical quality and enforce rules regarding software architecture, metrics and other aspects in all stages of the development process. It is a powerful tool that helps Java developers to get an assessment of the architectural integrity of a software system by simulated refactoring, visualization and a collection of metrics.
Sonargraph is now a more modern language agnostic platform based on Eclipse RCP 4. The new platform supports Java, C# and C/C++ out of the box and includes powerful features like a Groovy based scripting engine and a DSL (domain specific language) to describe software architecture.
