NYC WJF | Listening in Transition: How Streaming Has Changed Listening

Overview

Matt Mitchell, Amirtha Kidambi, Dan Mackta, moderated by David Ecker

In the wake of critic and author Liz Pelly’s exposé of Spotify, Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist the public has finally found a popular reason to leave Spotify for other more ethical streaming options or go back to old habits. Some musicians and even the general public never embraced streaming, opting to keep things like they always were, buying music a la carte. But for most of the population, streaming transformed the way we listen. We convene a panel moderated by David Ecker (Exceleration Music) featuring the musicians Amirtha Kidambi, Matt Mitchell, and Qobuz VP Dan Mackta to discuss how they are all listening today.
