About this event
Come to the lovely DUMBO Brooklyn waterfront and celebrate Climate Week NYC in style with us at the second NYC Water and Climate (II), an official Climate Week NYC event, hosted by Cobalt Water Gobal and WeWork. It will be a fun-filled evening with prizes, networking and brainstorming with water experts and entrepreneurs/tech leaders from NYC and the WeWork community, food/drinks, and virtual DJ. We will finish the night on our swanky rooftop, with amazing views of the whole city.
The event is being held at the WeWork (DUMBO) event space. This is a charity event to help Water for People bring safe drinking water in developing countries and where lack of safe drinking water can be exacerbated by climate change. But the idea is to also learn what we can all do to mitigate climate change through smarter and more sustainable water use.
This year we have an exciting panel discussion to talk about the water and climate change nexus and water and climate action here locally in NYC and globally. See program below:
6:00 - 6:30pm: networking, food, drinks
6:30 - 6:45pm: - Brief Talks by Jose Porro, Founder and CEO of Cobalt Water Global, and Mina Salib, Manager of WeWork Labs Dumbo Heights.
Jose will tell us about NYC's Urban Water Cycle and climate smart water tips for the home; use of AI for mitigating GHG emissions from our cities' wastewater treatment plants and for meeting UN SDG6; and the emergence of Climate Smart Water Utilities. Mina will tell us how WeWork Labs is empowering global innovation and supporting start ups like Cobalt Water Global around the world.
