Our Innovation in Education Conference is designed for students to prepare them for real world, tough issues in education and the teaching profession. With an anchor in the mission and impact of NYC Men Teach, this year's conference will analyze the current state of education, national trends on teacher diversity, the social responsibility and future of teacher preparation programs, and explore ways to build systems of justice and equity that benefit the success of all students.
In celebration of our decennial, this year's conference adds to the yearlong festivities in honor of men of color in education and teacher diversity across the city. Attendees will enjoy live music, cultural entertainment from the New York Alliance Drumline, and the debut of a commissioned poem by "The Maya Angelou of the Millenial Generation," award-winning poet and spoken word artist, Azure Antoinette.
All conference activity will take place at the Rosenthal Library (Room 230). Doors open at 4:30pm.
Light refreshments will be available along with free giveaways and photo opportunities.
