About DDC
The Department of Design and Construction, DDC, is an agency of professionals—project managers, engineers, architects, administrators, and more—committed to delivering critical infrastructure and essential public buildings for the City of New York. Our work can be seen in communities throughout the five boroughs, from public plazas and neighborhood libraries to the water pipes that carry 1 billion gallons every day to New Yorkers.
As the City's primary capital construction agency, we build and renovate civic facilities New Yorkers use every day. We provide communities with new or renovated structures, including firehouses, libraries, police precincts, courthouses, senior centers, and more. We also design and build sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, roadways, sewers, and water mains - quality infrastructure essential for a healthy, resilient city. These projects enhance every neighborhood and each borough, ultimately improving the lives of all New Yorkers.
