Join Haylee Voda, Professor Kenny, and Deborah Knox for the 2WAY-fan picnic (and hosts if we can get them, though Mark cannot make it) on Saturday, August 9, at the Sheep Meadow in Central Park from 12pm till 5pm ET.* (Dan often posts pictures of this location on X.) Please ignore the street address Eventbrite provides--the Sheep Meadow is on the west side of Central Park and can be accessed most easily between 66th and 67th Streets on Central Park West. We will aim to meet on the eastern side of the meadow, under the trees (more details to follow). In case of rain, we will be meeting at The Hugh, a food hall at 157 East 53rd Street that has ample seating.
This is designed to be a potluck, so bring your favorite picnic food to share. To prevent ending up with 12 people bringing hummus, please take a look at our potluck sign-up sheet and let us know what you will be bringing (aim to bring something that will serve 4-6 people).
Also bring something to sit on, any outdoor games you like to play (frisbee, hackysack anyone?), and sunscreen if you want to play in the sun (we will be sitting in a shaded area). The Central Park policy is no alcoholic beverages, but let’s just say I have seen people discreetly imbibing their beverages of choice. We will be supplying plates, napkins, plasticware, and cups.
We can't wait to congregate and hope to see you there!
*If you are driving into the city, you can avoid congestion pricing by driving in from the north of Manhattan and parking above 60th Street. If you are interested in ridesharing, check here to see if anyone else is going to the event coming from your direction.
