Description

This year the Enchantment Chapter is offering a tour of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in conjunction with the Socorro Summit. The NRAO tour begins at 11:15 AM and ends at 2:15 PM. Alllow 1 hour and 15 minutes of drive time to and from the tour. Attendees should leave Socorro for the tour by 10:00 AM. The return time to Socorro from the tour is expected to be 3:30 PM, in time for the SEP exam, if you are taking it..

Lunch will not be provided, so eat an appropriate breakfast and/or take some power bars or some such.

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center of the United States National Science Foundation operated under cooperative agreement by Associated Universities, Inc for the purpose of radio astronomy. NRAO designs, builds, and operates its own high sensitivity radio telescopes for use by scientists around the world.
